Munich Re Retakaful is Munich Re Group’s worldwide Retakaful operations business, focusing on providing Islamic Retakaful solutions to our clients in Malaysia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

We are looking for an intern to support the Underwriting team, where you will work closely with other associates within Munich Re Retakaful and have the opportunity to work with other business units in the Asia region.

Your Role

  • Compile, maintain, and update insurers' product information, treaty limits, and underwriting guidelines repository in SharePoint.
  • Extract and summarize key information from reinsurance treaty agreements and related documentation.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of underwriting repositories and knowledge management systems across SEA markets.
  • Perform data analysis and prepare reports using Excel to support underwriting activities and business insights.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and other stakeholders to ensure information is accurately captured and maintained.
  • Assist the underwriting team with ad hoc projects, research assignments, and administrative tasks as required.
  • Prepare clear documentation for repository updates, process improvements, and enhancements to ensure transparency and ease of future maintenance.

Your Profile

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics) or a related field.
  • Good Excel skills and other programming skills (e.g., VBA, SQL, etc.) are desired. Familiarity with SharePoint or document management systems would be an advantage.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • A basic understanding of insurance and reinsurance concepts and terminology.
  • Able to commit for at least 3 months
