FAQ
Do you offer internships outside the two main intake periods?
We aim to recruit primarily within the stated timelines. Any additional opportunities will be advertised on the Munich Re Career website or our LinkedIn page.
I’m not studying one of the listed courses. Can I still apply?
Yes. While we highlight typical degree backgrounds, we welcome applications from students with diverse academic disciplines, provided there is relevance to the role.
I am interested in the Summer Internship but I’m not available during the time period mentioned, can it be flexible?
Not typically. The Internship Programme has defined start and end dates, with dedicated activities and project work planned around them. We therefore ask students to commit to the full duration.
Can I complete the internship remotely?
No. While Munich Re supports hybrid working, interns are expected to be on-site. In-person interaction is especially valuable early in your career and provides richer learning, collaboration, and networking opportunities
Is the internship credit-bearing?
Yes. Internships undertaken through our partner university programmes — such as NUS ATAP (Advanced Technology Attachment Programme) and the NTU Work‑Study Degree Programme (Business) — are credit‑bearing. For internships outside of these programmes, we are happy to provide a reference letter confirming your participation and contributions.
Is it a paid internship?
Yes. Interns receive a monthly allowance aligned with the Singapore market.
What makes a strong application?
Requirements vary by role, but generally we look for students who demonstrate strong academic performance; are curious, proactive, and eager to learn; show genuine interes in the industry and the role; communicate clearly and confidently.
What will I learn during the internship?
Your experience will depend on your role, but you can expect a combination of day-to-day responsibilities and project work. You’ll also gain exposure to senior colleagues and insights into how teams collaborate and make decisions.
Is there an opportunity for a full-time role after the internship?
This depends on business needs at the time. That said, many of our former interns have successfully transitioned into permanent roles with Munich Re.
