Sr Manager Multi-Line Pricing
This role is a highly visible leader within the pricing function, driving results for the US, CAN and UK across our All Risk Property, EB, Energy products and any other niche products developed. Responsible for developing and supporting each division’s (PRS/CRS) pricing strategies & monitoring, financial solutions and strategic transactions to address new products, new distribution as well as monitoring performance of existing books of business. Builds strong collaborative relationships within both divisions as well as with the Global Product Organization, Global Corporate Underwriting and FP&A (among others) to ensure alignment with key priorities. Maintains a high level of expertise and knowledge of products and helps drive profitable results. Reviews and evaluates current pricing and underwriting tools to continuously improve and advance so underwriting can be done more efficiently and effectively. Partners with finance on the analysis and implementation of strategic transactions and financial solutions with customers. Develop a deep understanding of our data, systems and processes to effectively represent and advocate for the business. Also participates in training of others (underwriters, client managers) regarding analysis and methodologies.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or related fields requiring modeling, programming or quantitative analysis or equivalent work experience is required
- 10+ years experience doing actuarial/anayltic work in the insurance, reinsurance, financial, or consulting industries is required, with a proven ability to lead a product and influence positive outcomes.
- Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Mathematics preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- In depth knowledge of actuarial models, standard actuarial techniques particularly around pricing in the personal and commercial lines markets. Able to perform actuarial and data modeling insurance analysis
- Understanding client and market dynamics, as well as regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of primary and non-traditional reinsurance/alternative market and pricing and reserving
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical partners
- Strong project management skills, to include prioritizing and bringing about recommendations and decisions, leading or managing analytical projects and presenting analysis to business partners and executive leadership
- Self-driving and proactive even with ambiguous work
- Demonstrates courage, intellectual curiosity and organization savvy
- Work well both independently and in cross-disciplinary teams
- Ability to influence, negotiate with others and create acceptance for proposals. Strong interpersonal skills.
