  • Analyzes exceptions and process issues, identifies root causes and impacts, communicates results objectively, and escalates significant issues and roadblocks.
  • Partners with control owners to develop remediation plans, monitor open items, and validate that corrective actions operate effectively and sustainably.
  • Supports risk and control assessments, fraud risk activities, control monitoring, and standardized testing, documentation, policies, procedures, and reporting.
  • Leads or supports process improvements that increase quality, consistency, transparency, and efficiency while maintaining appropriate governance and controls.
  • Applies artificial intelligence, data analytics, workflow automation, and other technologies to improve testing and recurring Accounting processes; validates outputs and documents solution logic, controls, limitations, and procedures.
  • Develops dashboards, analyses, and reporting; works with data stewards and stakeholders to resolve data issues affecting accounting, reporting, controls, or operations.
  • Manages or supports Accounting projects and special requests, coordinates cross-functional deliverables, and creates procedures, job aids, presentations, and training materials.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and experience in financial statement audit, internal audit, or accounting controls testing, including workpapers, evidence evaluation, findings, and results communication.
  • Ability to document end-to-end accounting processes, connect risks to controls and testing procedures, and apply accounting and financial reporting principles; Statutory or technical insurance accounting knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience using technology, data analytics, artificial intelligence, or automation for audit, controls testing, or accounting processes, including identifying opportunities, defining requirements, validating outputs, and documenting related controls.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and data visualization, analytics, workflow automation, audit, or process-mapping tools; Python experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage priorities independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Property and casualty insurance, MGA, regulated financial services, public accounting, or large corporate accounting/internal audit experience is preferred.
