Digital IT Products Intern – Summer 2026

Munich Re America Services (MRAS), a Munich Re company, is seeking an intern to join our HSB Digital IT Products team. At MRAS and HSB IT, you will learn what it is like to pursue a career at one of the world’s largest reinsurance companies.

The Digital IT Products team is charged with creating customer facing digital applications and capabilities.   We work in partnership with functional areas across HSB to deliver digital capabilities that are customer focused, grounded in research, support departmental and HSB digital road-maps and drive to measurable strategic business outcomes.

As a valued intern within our Digital IT Products team, you will gain understanding and experience of our digital applications, technology platforms and processes that support HSB’s mission and strategic objectives. You will focus on supporting the HSB Digital IT Products staff to enhance the functionality of our digital applications and technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the daily operations and implementation of new or enhanced product features
  • Provide and/or modify content in knowledge base for technical events
  • Track and follow up on technical events through the service management tool.
  • Participate with team to provide support for digital enhancements through research and application development
  • Perform analytical discovery to determine feasibility of product concepts and modifications
  • Participate in the conversion of functional groups to active directory groups
  • Create and update user stories in the backlog to meet business expectations
  • Follow-up on user stories for appropriate approvals
  • Assist with regulatory or mandatory identity and security efforts as needed

Qualifications:

  • Grade Level: current rising senior (2029) undergraduate or current master’s student.
  • Preferred major: Computer Science or Engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and balance priorities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Excited, motivated and passionate
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies
  • Familiar with web development tools, SQL, .Net, Javascript is a plus.
  • Within commuting distance of Hartford, CT
