Claims Insights Analyst
Analyzing and interpreting Claims data to understand product performance, identify areas of improvement and embrace optimization of efforts. Support strategic initiatives by providing expertise, guidance, and data driven guidance to achieve department objectives while supporting the Claims strategy. Individual will lead and direct work of up to two reporting analysts in support of projects and daily activities and act as a resource in completion of work. Maintain and develop reporting, insights, and digital tools to assist claims partners. Provide data-backed recommendations to leadership across a variety of stakeholders including Claims, Underwriting, Engineering, Account and Product Management, for product and operational changes to enhance competitiveness and profitability. Strategically lead initiatives with minimal direction.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Math, Accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience is required.
- 5+ years’ experience in financial or management reporting, or working to enact operational change through project management
- Experience with data manipulation and analysis using tools like Excel, SQL, or Python
- Experience in the insurance industry is a plus
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced Excel skills to include strong technical ability to automate reports (Pivots, Vlookups, Macros, and Formulas).
- Proficiency in Power BI a plus
- Strong analytic skills to include the ability to identify developing and/or emerging trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include the ability to interact with all levels with the organization
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to engage in multiple assignments/activities simultaneously
