  • Develop and test uncertainty‑quantification methods, including conformal prediction, calibration techniques, predictive intervals, and other approaches relevant for AI risk assessment.

  • Support the development of novel frameworks for estimating model risks, detecting performance drift, identifying discrimination and algorithmic harms, and characterizing AI model failure modes.

  • Contribute to research papers with the team, summarizing key findings and conducting literature reviews for academic publication.

  • Present research results to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders within Munich Re, as well as at academic conferences.

Your Profile

  • Strong foundation in statistical modeling, machine learning theory, and experimental design.

  • Experience with uncertainty‑quantification methods such as conformal prediction, model calibration, or related statistical techniques.

  • Familiarity with AI/GenAI model evaluation including robustness testing, performance‑drift detection, fairness and discrimination assessment, and other risk analysis.

  • Proficiency in Python and commonly used machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, NumPy, Scikit‑learn).

  • Ability to synthesize research findings, conduct literature reviews, and contribute to academic‑style writing.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
