Munich Re’s Central Life Reserving (CLR) Global Oversight team is responsible for the IFRS17 reporting and reserves held in the Life and Health Reinsurance (LH RI) Portfolio. We empower actuaries across the globe to provide actionable analytics on business and reserve developments relevant for decision making. We expand and improve our capabilities for analyzing and understanding risks. We drive the development and implementation of an integrated actuarial analysis and reporting platform, while constantly safeguarding the availability of high-quality data for the reserving and business analysis processes.

Over the next few years, a key objective for the department will be the further development and automation of the valuation processes, analysis and reporting. In this context, this position offers an exciting opportunity and exposure to our global IFRS17 operations by supporting the CLR IFRS Operations and Analytics (O&A) team with quarterly valuation activities, technical systems development and cross-functional initiatives geared towards the optimization of consistent reserving processes and reporting tools across LH RI.

Your Job

  • Support orchestration, central processing and quality assurance of quarterly close and forecast data from international business units for Group and Local IFRS17 reporting. 
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the standardized input data model, calculation approaches and validation framework to ensure functional accuracy and alignment with methodological guidance. 
  • Plan, coordinate and execute testing for central tools across release cycles, and drive automation/digitization of related workflows and controls. 
  • Develop and maintain reference calculators and reporting tools, and investigate technical/functional issues with clear recommendations for corrective actions. 
  • Contribute to management presentations with impactful analysis, drawing actionable insights from underlying data, financial results, operational metrics and projected trends.
  • Partner with valuation and finance stakeholders across CLR, local offices, accounting, IT, audit and controlling to resolve issues and improve end-to-end reporting processes. 
  • Build and apply technical skills (e.g., Python, Power BI, Databricks) to streamline analysis and support continuous improvement of valuation tooling.

Your Profile

  • University degree with quantitative focus (e.g. mathematics, actuarial science, or economics). 
  • Good progress towards an actuarial qualification from a recognized actuarial association. 
  • Relevant professional experience in actuarial, finance or related systems roles, including project-related work.
  • Knowledge of and experience in IFRS reporting or LH valuation is an asset. 
  • Strong technical skills; experience with some of Excel/VBA, Power BI, Python, data platforms (e.g., Databricks) or similar tools. 
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with stakeholders across different departments and locations.
  • Highly organized and independent with strong time management skills.
  • Team player with willingness and ability to collaborate cross-functional with Actuarial, Accounting and IT colleagues.
  • Very good command of English; good command of German beneficial.
