Owns the execution of innovative growth solutions across key priorities—IoT-enabled risk solutions, engineering and loss-mitigation services, and data-driven offerings—with the goal of expanding value and services to Client Companies. Builds strategic partnerships with insurance carriers that extend beyond individual insurance products to deliver differentiated, technology-enabled risk solutions. Grows and optimizes the book of business in alignment with risk appetite, underwriting priorities, and client strategies.

Partners with HSB’s Senior Executive Leadership Team to shape and execute the Portfolio Risk Solutions strategy for assumed reinsurance clients, prospects, and brokers. Leads client, broker, and IoT-partner relationships and manages a team of business development and innovation professionals.

Advises the President of PRS on emerging risk trends and opportunities, accelerates business development and transformation through new ecosystem partnerships, and advances new solution concepts that strengthen client outcomes and revenue growth.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience; master’s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in insurance and/or reinsurance.
  • 10+ years of experience including a combination of business development, underwriting, management, and/or strategic planning.
  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional, multicultural teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Innovation and growth experience, including leading teams to create, test, and scale new capabilities and solutions (e.g., IoT, engineering services, and data products).
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership to set strategy and translate it into executable plans.
  • Experience with business finance and P&L management.
  • Experience using data analytics and insights to solve problems and inform decisions.
  • Experience in insurance marketing and sales.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to set a vision, build a plan, and execute initiatives.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience leading cross-functional implementation of applications, methodologies, and frameworks.
  • Skilled at building, engaging, and deploying high-trust teams that consistently exceed expectations.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to challenge assumptions and influence outcomes appropriately.
  • Ability to lead change and drive innovation in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision.
  • Strategic and conceptual thinking with a strong focus on operational excellence.
  • Ability to raise issues and recommendations with senior leadership clearly and confidently.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in team-based environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
