Your central role

  • As part of ERGO Group Legal you are heading the international legal department and leading all foreign heads of legal in den countries (dotted line leadership) as well as develop and implement group-wide minimum standards for structures, processes and ways of working (international legal function governance)
  • You and your team are involved in all significant legal matters of ERGO Group and provide high-impact, strategic legal advice to the ERGO International Management Board and executive leadership
  • Your team advise the ERGO Group’s international entities on complex Global IT-related legal matters and provide expert legal support, with a particular focus on the technology hubs in India and Poland
  • You take overall responsibility for the legal oversight and coordination of the appointment process for non-executive board members in the ERGO Group’s international entities
  • You lead interdisciplinary and cross functional projects with a focus on the legal workstream and provide disciplinary and functional leadership for the department, including people development

Your profile

  • University degree in law, with a strong academic record and solid practical legal knowledge
  • A minimum of 8-10 years relevant professional experience, ideally in a multinational company with legal experience abroad, and proven experience in leading cross-country teams
  • Inspiring personality, outspoken communicator and willingness to lead change by example
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, proven international leadership experience, excellent English language skills and strong intercultural competence, combined with a willingness to travel internationally
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving and decision-making skills, combined with a strong results-oriented mindset, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional and international teams
