This role will be part of the Corporate Functions Tower for Group Technology, which oversees IT service delivery and manages key relationships across all corporate and central units, including Finance, HR, Legal & Compliance, Services/Facilities, and Procurement. The Tower also manages cross-functional domains such as document management, collaboration platforms, corporate websites, and Group-wide Identity Access Management (IAM), as well as selected central platforms and Regulatory/Integrated Risk Management (IRM) product delivery.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Solution Architect who will be part of the IFRS17 architecture team.

Your Job

  • Design, build and run technology solutions to assure Munich Re’s IFRS17 closing process
  • Develop and maintain automated development processes with Azure DevOps Pipelines
  • Maintain .Net API components and ensure robust integration with other systems
  • Map business requirements to technical requirements and systems in IFRS17
  • Take ownership of system solution design, ensuring it adheres to enterprise architecture patterns and fulfils non-functional requirements (NFRs)
  • Ensure compliance and security in system design, following Munich Re’s IT norms
  • Support the definition of the technical roadmap and drive the reduction of technical debt
  • Contribute to the technical design process, including conceptual work and decision-making
  • Define and design functional systems, guiding development teams and managing the lifecycle of the technology stack and infrastructure blueprint
  • Support the resolution of operational problems and collaborate in a global, interdisciplinary team

Your Profile

  • University degree in computer science or comparable qualifications
  • Several years of experience in developing and designing ETL and Data Warehouse processes
  • In-depth knowledge of the overall software development and produce lifecycle around ETL processes, data warehousing, data modeling and reporting
  • Strong experience with .NET Core, C#, Azure DevOps Pipelines, database technologies and procedural database programming in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL or comparable platforms
  • Previous experience with SAS Software, including SAS DI Studio, and a good understanding of financial closing processes such as IFRS17 are advantageous
  • Solid knowledge in one or more areas of cloud computing architecture (preferably in Microsoft Azure), .NET/ASP.NET and Appian is a plus
  • Proven track record of successful implementations delivering business value
  • Consulting and collaborative working style, fostering accountability and knowledge sharing
  • Experience managing expectations and balancing technical and financial constraints
  • High commitment, willingness, and ability to master diverse tasks
  • Fluent command of Business English
