About the Role
Are you passionate about insurance technology and business enablement? HSB is seeking an Application Lead for our Realytix platform—a proprietary insurance policy administration tool critical to our operations. This hybrid business and technical role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing insurance products on Realytix, as well as leading future development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain Cyber Pro Instance: Collaborate with Business Enablement resources and Underwriting teams in the US and Canada to support and improve the shared Cyber Pro platform.
- Create New Capabilities: Partner with CRS and Team Canada to identify and implement new uses for Realytix, supporting the launch of innovative insurance products.
- Project Support: Contribute to other Business Enablement projects as assigned, leveraging your skills to support a variety of initiatives.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams—including underwriting, product management, and IT—to identify business requirements and develop product roadmaps.
- Platform Development: Lead the implementation of new products and features, ensuring seamless integration with other systems such as agency management, claims, and data warehouses.
- Data & Reporting: Ensure business data and reporting needs are met by developing necessary data extracts, reports, and analytics.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a liaison between business and IT, translating business requirements into technical solutions and providing guidance on Realytix-related matters.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the Realytix platform, developing processes to ensure stability and security.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in insurance policy administration, focusing on quoting, binding, and issuance
- Hands-on experience with the Realytix platform or similar insurance policy administration systems
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
- Strong programming skills (Python, TypeScript)
- Knowledge of insurance industry standards and regulations (ACORD, IVANS)
- Experience with data analytics and reporting tools (SQL, Tableau)
- Professional certification in insurance or a related field (e.g., CPCU, ARM)
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- Deep understanding of insurance products and operations, including underwriting, product management, and claims
- Technical expertise in software development methodologies and programming languages
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex business problems creatively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and tasks

The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including California. The salary ranged posted below applies to the Company’s Hartford, CT location.
- The salary range for this position is $ 135,600 - $198,900, plus opportunity for company bonus. In addition, the company provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
- The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range of candidates hired. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
