Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB Group) is part of Munich Re and is a multi-line specialty insurer and provider of inspection, risk management and IoT technology services blending its engineering expertise, technology and data to craft inventive insurance and service solutions for existing and emerging risks posed by technological change. Based in Hartford, Connecticut U.S with affiliates in Canada and the UK and Ireland.

Here in the UK & Ireland we are a leading specialist provider of engineering, technology and structural warranty insurance solutions, plant and equipment inspection services, and engineering-based risk management activities.

HSB (UK and Ireland) consists of the parent company HSB Engineering Insurance Limited (HSBEIL) together with its two UK subsidiaries, HSB Engineering Inspection Services Limited (HSBEISL); and a regulated MGA, MD Insurance Services Limited (MDIS), which trades as Premier Guarantee or LABC Warranty.

Collectively HSB is the UK and Ireland’s only group of companies solely focused on providing specialist engineering and technology insurance solutions and risk focused inspection services and assessments to its customers.

Job Purpose:

To support in the active management and development of the cyber product line, with a focus on business development, underwriting support, and strategic execution. This role provides expert class-of-business leadership and acts as a key referral point for underwriting, helping drive profitable growth and product innovation.

Your Role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key underwriting referral point, providing technical guidance and decision support
  • Collaborate closely with business development to assess and shape new opportunities as well as supporting companywide initiatives through collaboration with product governance and other internal teams
  • Assist the Product Leader in delivering product strategy and innovation
  • Support the development and maintenance of policy wordings, underwriting guides, and pricing tools
  • Lead or contribute to technical training initiatives for underwriting teams
  • Monitor cyber and IT market developments, emerging risks, and regulatory changes
  • Produce and maintain marketing literature aligned with product positioning 
  • Represent cyber products externally with brokers, clients, and market bodies as well as contribute to proactive communications and technical alerts on cyber events
  • Contribute to the ongoing monitoring and refinement of products to maintain fair value and relevance in the market.
  • Provide input into lifecycle planning and product interventions based on performance insights and market developments.

  • Standard Microsoft Office packages
  • A sound knowledge and interest on economic, geo-political environment and cyber market, events and trends

Desirable

  • Sharepoint experience
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks
