We are looking for an experienced, collaborative risk manager with excellent communication skills to join our Risk Management division. Reporting into NewRe’s Chief Risk Officer, you will be responsible for an array of topics covering both qualitative and quantitative risk management. As part of a very senior and highly professional team, you will share responsibility for key legal entity products such as the ORSA and SST reports. 

Your responsibilities

  • In the annual SST calculations, generate the SST balance sheet and own its methodology
  • Own the Financial Condition Report creation, working closely with the Accounting, Controlling & Reporting, and business teams.
  • Operate and continuously enhance derivative risk management and reporting.
  • Drive, in tandem with relevant stakeholders, the implementation of NewRe's liquidity risk management framework.
  • Drive the IT Risk Management framework in close collaboration with Munich Re Group colleagues.
  • Drive and support selected other non-financial risk topics, including Third Party Risk Management.

Plus any additional duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be expected to be undertaken in accordance with the role.

Your profile

  • University degree in mathematics/science, or related quantitative subject
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in risk management in the (re)insurance or audit/consulting space
  • Ideally: Tertiary qualification e.g. CERA, qualified actuary, CFA 
  • Experience of capital modelling techniques and statistical methods used in risk management as well as the capital market exposures associated with re/insurance activities
  • Reporting experience in either an SST or SII environment 
  • Enthusiastic about working in a highly experienced and committed team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Independent working style
  • Fluent in English
