Munich Re America Services, Inc. seeks an Application Developer for its Amelia, OH location. Applicants interested in this role must apply through recruiting@munichre.com and reference job code: 998217.

Duties: Work on Guidewire Configuration and Integration for the Guidewire insurance suite (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter and ClaimCenter). Integrate the Guidewire with Third party services such as Document production, Oden (Cancellation and Non-Renewal notices), Motor vehicle report, Clue, Prefill, Vehicle make model, Ach processor, Payment Instrument Hub, Property Evaluation, Inspection Order and Location Intelligence (Territory, Geocode). Implement the multiple enterprise service bus (ESB) components as a middleware between the Guidewire and Third-party services using Java and Apache Camel framework. Implement the Guidewire Change Requests, Enhancements using Gosu script language. Understand the functional requirements and translate them into technical specification based on the design approach and the development process. Participate in High level design, Low level design, development and in implementation of software applications. Work on Guidewire PCF Configuration, Page creation, extension of entities, extension of type lists and configure the business rules in Gosu. Work on Unit and Integration test of the configured /customized modules via GUNIT framework. Utilize J2EE, XML, SQL (Oracle/MS SQL Server) skills to develop applications in enterprise service bus (ESB) layer. Work on Guidewire plugins, messaging, Webservices and on Guidewire batch process. Develop SOAP and RESTful services using Java and GOSU based on project integration requirements. Develop integration methods of the ESB to SOAP and RESTful APIs by leveraging the Java Camel framework. Support and enhance AMsuite policy administration system to accept upgrades from 3rd party integration end points like CLUE, MVR, MSB. Utilize the JUNIT framework for Java-based applications to ensure a high level of code quality. Develop application components via agile methodology, manage software version control process and support release management. Support Guidewire applications in the production environment. Participate in peer code reviews, root cause analysis meetings. Leverage industry-leading software development tools such as Eclipse, SVN, Maven and Jenkins to build and deploy integration modules. Utilize knowledge of Oracle table design, indexing, and views to build out the data layer of applications. Utilize knowledge of MS SQL Server in a cloud-based configuration to build out the data layer of applications.

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related field plus 5 years of experience as a Guidewire Software Developer, Software Engineer, Java Developer, Technical Lead, or closely related position. Prior work experience must include using: Property & Casualty insurance knowledge; Guidewire GOSU programming language; Guidewire Design Studio; GUnit framework; Java J2EE (Spring, Hibernate, jQuery); Java Apache Camel framework; REST and SOAP Services; Junit framework; Maven Dependency Management; Jenkins; SVN source code repository; Application servers (Tomcat, JBoss); Oracle, MS SQL Server; Azure DevOps VSTS; and Project Management Framework (Agile). May telecommute but must have ability to report Amelia, OH office 2 times per week.
