The department is responsible for AI strategy development and execution, biometrics insights and knowledge modelling for more than 40 markets, for 500+ cedents, and 1,500+ active reinsurance contracts. We strategically invest in scalable, easy-to-use data and knowledge technologies to create and operationalize high quality products and services using structured and unstructured data, serving both internal and external clients. Are you the expert who can combine data management, UI/UX design, and operational thinking to deliver exceptional business outcomes? We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as Business Intelligence Engineer. You will extend our current self-service portfolio and own the development, integration, and lifecycle of Power BI dashboards, business-facing applications, and data pipelines that support our regional analytics and AI strategy.

Join a team where business impact, product thinking, and technical rigor come together.

Your Job

  • Design, development, and operationalization of business-facing data services, including Power BI dashboards, analytical interfaces, and decision-support used across underwriting, pricing, medical, and claims domains.
  • Design robust data models, implement DAX/Power Query logic, and build secure, efficient data connections to enterprise data sources to ensure accurate, scalable, and maintainable reporting solutions.
  • Develop and maintain business-controlled data integration layers (e.g., curated datasets, semantic models) ensuring that data is ready for analytics, AI, and operational use cases.
  • Implement UI/UX best practices to create intuitive, high-quality user interfaces for dashboards, tools, and self-service products; ensure consistency, usability, and alignment with business needs.
  • Build automation, workflow utilities, and lightweight applications using Group tools such as Python, Jupyter Notebooks, R Studio, Power BI, Power Automate, Office/VBA components, and other business-friendly frameworks.
  • Act as the developer for key dashboards and self-services, managing lifecycle operations, enhancements, user feedback, and backlog prioritization.
  • Collaborate closely with data engineering, IT infrastructure, and enterprise architecture teams to secure compliant, scalable, and well-governed integrations.
  • Translate business requirements into structured technical specifications and design documents; provide expert consultation to internal clients on UI design, data modelling, and dashboard architecture.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards on data privacy, operational governance, model transparency, and reporting integrity.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the business analytics stack through standardization, templates, and repeatable frameworks for dashboarding and data integration.
  • Stay current with modern BI practices, Microsoft Power Platform advancements, and best-in-class approaches to data productization in analytical organizations.

Your Profile

  • Strong understanding of (re)insurance or financial services processes, ideally with experience supporting underwriting, pricing, claims, medical, or actuarial analytics teams.
  • Advanced skills in Power BI (Power Query, DAX, data modelling, performance optimization) with a track record of designing enterprise-grade dashboards, production data services.
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT, data modelling principles, SQL, and data integration workflows; experience collaborating with data engineers to build reliable data pipelines.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as R or Python.
  • Proven experience delivering high-quality UI/UX for business-facing analytical tools; familiarity with design thinking, usability principles, and iterative prototyping.
  • Hands-on experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) and office automation (e.g., VBA, Excel integration) is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage lifecycle operations of BI products, including data refresh processes, access management, documentation, and service quality.
  • Skilled in engaging business stakeholders, understanding their requirements, and translating them into well-structured technical implementations.
  • Strong communication, conceptual thinking, and ability to collaborate across business, analytics, and IT teams without generating organizational friction.
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy requirements, and operational risk considerations for business-owned data products in a regulated industry.
