MEAG is part of Munich Re Group and one of the world's foremost asset managers. Foreign Exchange Trader is a senior position in the Front Office, responsible for executing transactions in the foreign exchange market. The candidate will serve as a central point of contact for our portfolio managers and other key investment decision-makers and play a key role in optimizing trading processes and identifying investment opportunities.

  • Executing of transactions in foreign exchange across all products – spot, forward, options, swaps - in line with our best execution and risk management practices
  • Close collaboration with portfolio managers, adding value by identifying actionable investment opportunities and best approach for trade implementation
  • Management of existing foreign exchange exposures in our systematic and passive overlay strategies
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and preparation of transaction cost reports, presentations on market trends and trading activities, proactively supporting the investment process
  • Have strong knowledge of products, market structure and technology and demonstrate ownership of projects, identifying opportunities to optimize and improve trading processes
  • Ability to leverage technology to improve effectiveness and efficiency, by developing custom solutions using programming languages and data analytics
  • Building reliable and active trading relationships and processes with external market participants, including sell/side market makers, vendors, and trading platforms

Your qualifications:


  • Dynamic FX Trader with 5+ years of experience at top-tier buy-/sell-side institutions, bringing deep knowledge of foreign exchange market structure and execution strategies
  • Strong academic foundation in Economics (or related field), paired with a track record of analytical excellence and high-performance trading
  • Skilled in leveraging data analysis, machine learning techniques, and automation tools to enhance trading efficiency and strategy development
  • High level of decision-making ability (situational, fast), recognized for a strong risk awareness and the ability to remain calm and objective despite market environment
  • Effective communicator and collaborative team player, fluent in German and English, with a professional demeanor and well-balanced sense of humor
