International Graduate Trainee - focus on mathematics/actuarial science (m/f/d)*

Our International Graduate Trainee Programme offers you exciting insights and a thorough introduction to the diverse activities of a leading global reinsurer. This provides you with the exceptional opportunity to advance your expertise and drive your personal development. 

Over a period of 24 months, including an international assignment, you will receive in-depth training in underwriting as well as in professional, methodological and social skills. Your Job

Depending on your skills profile, your tasks may include:

• Working on exciting and varied topics focusing on underwriting, pricing, monitoring or reporting of risks in a business unit of Munich Re (e.g. developing product and client strategies, drafting and negotiating (re)insurance contracts with clients, performing risk analysis or financial reporting, using different pricing models, analyzing profitability and performance)
• Working on exciting and varied topics on analysing client data in order to improve risk assessment for better and more profitable underwriting.

• Experience the opportunities and insights offered by one of the world's leading risk managers
• Participate in an international assignment of 12 weeks to broaden your intercultural experience
• Acquire profound knowledge of our business as well as further developing your soft skills in our distinguished global learning programme
• Take the opportunity to quickly build a broad network of industry experts within Munich Re worldwide

Your Profile

• Very good university degree in mathematics, actuarial sciences, statistics, data / computer science, physics or a similar degree with a mathematical background
• Initial work experience (e.g. internships or up to two years of work experience after graduation), ideally in the (re)insurance or the financial sector
• Knowledge of actuarial sciences and willingness to complete actuarial studies is an advantage
• Strong analytical skills, programming skills and/or database knowledge (e.g. Python, R, SQL, Power BI, Power Query etc.) are beneficial
• At least three months experience abroad (studies or internship/work experience abroad)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and willingness to learn
• Strong written and verbal communication in English required. Germand and Spanish are an advantage
• Curious and creative mindset
