Lead Actuary
Location: Waltham, MA (hybrid)

We are growing fast and looking for an actuary who wants to help shape how we manage our product portfolio, not just analyze it.
You will have real autonomy and the latitude to act on your expertise as a trusted partner to our insurance product managers, bringing sound recommendations to leadership backed by rigorous analysis. You will be close to the business day to day, with a clear view of where the line stands and where it is headed, and a direct role in the decisions that shape its growth and profitability.
What You’ll Do:
- Be the #1 subject matter expert at Next related to the pricing of the target product offerings
- Build and enhance actuarial methodologies around loss ratio forecast, insurance analytics, and P&L management
- Partner with Insurance Product Managers to drive future product developments
- Build go-to-market predictive models in Akur8, perform impact analyses, and support product filings
- Perform competitor and market research
- Partner with data science and data engineering to enable future-proof data architecture
- Deliver actuarially sound recommendations to senior management
- Provide ad hoc support to other business partners, including but not limited to reinsurance, finance, distribution, claims, and growth teams.
What You Need:
- FCAS preferred, ACAS accepted
- 6+ years of actuarial experience; property & casualty insurance and product management experience preferred

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base salaries for the position in the location(s) listed. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including, without limitation, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. ERGO NEXT employees are also potentially eligible for our annual performance-based incentive program, in addition to our benefits package, consisting of our partially subsidized medical plan, fully subsidized vision/dental options, life insurance, disability insurance, 401(k), flexible paid time off, parental leave and more.
US annual base salary range for this full-time position:
$158,000 - $214,000
