Insurance Product Manager
Location: Waltham, MA (hybrid)
ERGO NEXT's mission is to help entrepreneurs thrive. We’re doing that by building the only technology-led, full-stack provider of small business insurance in the industry, taking on the entire value chain and transforming the customer experience.
Simply put, wherever you find small businesses, you’ll find ERGO NEXT.
Since 2016, we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of small business customers across the United States get fast, customized and affordable coverage. We’re backed by industry leaders in insurance and tech, and we still have room to grow — that’s where you come in.
We're inviting an accomplished and forward-thinking Insurance Product Manager to join our Property team. This is a highly visible and cross-functional position with the primary goal of delivering best-in-class products to small businesses in multiple verticals. We believe that the insurance products available on the market today do not fit the needs of small businesses and we are committed to leading the charge in rethinking small business insurance as we know it. If you get excited about understanding & redesigning pricing, love thinking about risk, and want to work on initiatives that will have a real impact on the industry and the customer - we’d love to talk to you!
What You’ll Do:
- Become a go-to expert for one of our core insurance products, overseeing coverage, pricing, underwriting, and compliance
- Own initiatives end-to-end, from problem definition and analysis through execution, rollout, and post-launch performance monitoring
- Conduct industry research, competitive benchmarking, and small business owner interviews to identify and prioritize the most critical customer needs
- Drive growth and profitability of the product line by optimizing pricing, shaping insurance offerings, and supporting filings and geographic or segment expansions
- Partner closely with teams across NEXT, including Technical Product, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Claims, Compliance, Customer Operations, and Legal
- Use customer insights and product performance data to identify opportunities to improve experience, pricing, and underwriting, then execute on those opportunities
- Serve as the ambassador for the line of business with internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g., reinsurers, agents, and strategic partners)
What We Need:
- 5+ years of experience in BOP or Commercial Property insurance, with a background in product management, underwriting, or actuarial roles.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to frame problems, evaluate trade-offs, and measure business impact
- Experience working with and presenting to senior leadership
- Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple initiatives in an evolving and ambiguous environment
- BA/BS degree required; advanced degree a plus
